Details: BEN 10: Transforming Alien Rocks is an incredibly unique toy line. Finally, Bandai keshi being released outside of Japan, and in the year 2007 nonetheless! Currently, there appear to be 18 unique sculpts. At this time, I can't say for certain, but it looks as if each of the 18 sculpts can only be found in one color. Many of the colors are translucent. They are Dark Green, Light Yellowish-Green, Yellow, White-Silver, Blue, Red, Aqua, and Black. The color names are my own. I don't currently own all the figures; I was using the pictures on the box to determine the color (see image below). In other words, when the figures are in-hand, they may look different.

The figures come enclosed in chalky balls (teehee, I said balls). The balls are actually Alien Rocks! When placed in water, the ball dissolves and the figure floats to the surface. It takes about 10-15 minutes for a ball to dissolve.

From the Bandai Website:

The Transforming Alien Rocks can be played [with] in the Alien Laboratory or on their own. The Aliens are hidden inside of a transforming rock that bubbles and dissolves in water to reveal a 1" collectible figure. Each box contains 2 rocks - look for the entire collection.

Here's an up-close look at some of the awesome figures! I believe due to their translucence, they are very hard to photograph.

Here's a look at the packaging.
It's very nice and compact, and it has an old-school feel to it. Sixteen of the sculpts come in these boxes -- two figures per box, while it appears the two remaining sculpts are exclusive to a play set.

And finally a closer look at some of the images on the packaging. First, the backing of a box labeled 2005.

And one labeled 2006. The play set shown here is the one that contains the two exclusive sculpts. You can just make them out in the picture, an orange one and a white one. Also,
note the mention of Cartoon Network.

And the side of the 2006 box showing additional figures. Hopefully there are even more still to come!
