Name of Card Set: Ghostbusters II
Production Company: The Topps Company, Inc.
Year of Production: 1989
Pack Contents: 8 cards, 1 sticker, 1 stick bubble gum
Details:
In an effort to capitalize on the popularity of the Ghostbusters sequel, Topps released a series of trading cards related to the movie. The cards were printed on standard cardboard stock, featuring a scene from the movie on the front, with little portions of the plot on the back. If a collector were to compile a complete set, they would be able to combine the images from the front of the cards, with the storyline on the back, and have a good idea what took place on the big screen. And just like any great 80's collectible, the captions on the front of the Ghostbusters II cards feature a nice combination of 'cheese' and 'lack of effort' from the design team.

As mentioned, each pack of Ghostbusters II cards (pictured at the top of this post) came with a sticker. The stickers were typically an artists rendition of characters or scenes from the movie on the front, and a puzzle piece on the back. The completed puzzle resembled the Ghostbusters II movie poster.
