Collector's Note: I think I may have gotten this little feller from my mate, nanoFatato, but I'm not sure at this point. I've had him sitting aside from my main collection for awhile, but the sculpt always catches my eye. It has a nice, simple style that I have really grown to love. I'd like to get more characters from this line... that is if there are any!

And, judging by the hole in its base, it appears that this piece may be a finger puppet or some type of topper.

Collector's Note: Bootleg of my favourite line of minifigures: Transformers Decoys. This kind of bootleg series used japanese figures (the numbers on its back are the japanese ones) as molds and seems to be defined by its pearlescent colors, because I've seen other sculpts in pink, wine, green and yellow all with the same shiny effect.

Collector's Note: No, it's not the Geico gecko. I'm not sure what it is, but it's a fun little sculpt. I've got a few more to post soon as well. I got them from my mate, nano. He probably knows what they are, but if you do too, let me know!

Update: Here are more pics. The largest green and smallest yellow look to be the same sculpt albeit at different scales, but upon close inspection one can note some subtle differences. The pic with those two sculpts is at scale. However, the pic with all three sculpts, including the middle-sized green figure holding the sphere (fruit or happy Easter egg) is a collage made from three different pictures, so the scale between figures is not exact.

Collector's Note: This figure bears the word Yolanda in raised letters, which allows one to deduce that it was made by Yolanda. However, that's all I've been able to deduce; even after a Google search for "Yolanda Pirate Toy," which, er, resulted in several pics of women presumably named Yolanda playing with, ahem, toys.

So, though this figure appears to be a Yolanda pirate figgy, I can't say to which toy line it belongs. Shame because it's a fun sculpt (though my above pic didn't capture too much detail unfortunately). I would love to see more from this line.

About: How many dinosaur mini figure toy lines are there? How many times has George Lucas needlessly edited The Star Wars movies? The answer to both questions is "too $&#% many." However, unlike George's edits, there are some good saurian toy lines. The above figures may or may not belong to one of the good ones. And though the above sculpts are pretty basic, I will say they're attractive. I'm fairly certain these figs do not belong to the Dinomite and/or the Dinobrite toy lines. (Both of which I'd like to document here at MXD someday.) These figures are made of hard plastic. I believe I originally acquired them from the UK.

Collector's Note: I found this keshi in a UK lot of monsters themed set of pencil toppers, it doesn't have any hole on its bottom and has 'JAPAN' embossed on the back of the head skull. There was one more in the lot, red, about twice the size and without the hole or any markings. I see these popped up from time to time on YHJ.

Collector's Note: This figure appears to be a cactus whilst simultaneously appearing to be a dog. And yet, it's oddly familiar. It's also a nice little sculpt. I especially love the paws. Very nice.

I'm not sure what to make of the little "nub" on his right side. Perhaps it's a sprue where an accessory of some sort was once attached. This figure has to be based on some character from a movie or cartoon. It's made of hard rubbery plastic. It has Japanese kanji on its back. If you've got any guesses, please let us know in the comments.

Update: Special thanks to @samurai_me for identifying this figure as belonging to the Bio Seed ( バイオだね ) toy line. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any information about it. Based off of a few pics I was able to find and that @samurai_me shared, the Bio Seed figures came with a tiny seed-like capsule that they perhaps could have fit inside.

If I find more info, I'll be sure to update this entry.

Collector's Note: One thing that I love about bidding on YHJ is that if you win huge lots of keshi you'll end up with a great array of unknown characters like monsters, silly old people, cars, baseball gloves, hyper-stylized mecha and more.
Take these guys for example, the goofy looking of the space alien is priceless and the cuteness of the little.. thingies? Seriously, this is a great hobby.

Collector's Note: A Toypedia reader contacted me recently wondering if I had any info about the above figures. He reports that the figures were acquired in the 80's, and at the time, he was told they were vintage, meaning they are possibly from the 60's, 70's, or later. Whatever and whenever they are from, they are certainly cool, and fit in perfectly here at Toypedia. We'd love to learn more about these awesome guys!

"The mophead guy is named DWAK; he was a 60s character that was normally a larger vinyl figure covered in fur and holding a sign (like make love, not war or other campy, hippy stuff). They came in at least blue, light blue, magenta, red, green and possibly/probably pale yellow.

The other one is based on a humpty dumpty figure."

Collector's Note: The sculpt of this little dinosaur figure is reminiscent of a D.I.N.O. Mites or DINO Brites sculpt. (Entries on both lines to be added to Toypedia sometime in the yadda yadda yadda.) However, it's lacking any glow-in-the-dark paint apps that would be found on a D.I.N.O. Mites figure, and it's made of hard plastic, which means it isn't a DINO Brites figure. Furthermore, it has no trade markings.

Tiny Orange Creature -- 15/01/08

Update -- 10/31/10

Identified as the character Garuban (www.clubtokyo.org) from the Japanese television series Captain Ultra (Wikipedia). We're still not sure if the following figure is a bootleg of a legitimate Garuban keshigomu minifigure.

This small orange figure was a surprise addition to a lot of M.U.S.C.L.E.s purchased from a US seller on Ebay. Standing at around 1" tall this strange little creature has no markings other than "HONG KONG" stamped on the back. It is similar plastic to M.U.S.C.L.E. figures but the color is a lot duller than an orange M.U.S.C.L.E. as the following comparison shows:

Dinosaucers Mini-Figs -- 05/18/08

Dinosaucers was a short-lived toy line based on the 1980's cartoon of the same name. Over the past few months, a few Dinosaucers mini-figs have popped up in UK eBay lots. The figures stand approximately 2.5-3" tall and are made of a hard plastic. The trade markings on the figure are: © 1988 / CC TELECON / INC CE







According to a post by CheapToyMan at the CheapToyLand forums, these figures are made by a company called Yolanda. There appears to be a very similar Toxic Crusader/Avenger toy line as well also documented at CheapToyLand.

Troll/Goblin like figure -- 15/01/08

This figure turned up in a lot of Italian Army Ants, it is similar in size to M.U.S.C.L.E. figures and the plastic also is a similar density. Semi-translucent in a pink 'fuscia' color bearing no markings, this is a very cool and nicely detailed figure:

Brown Gizmo-like figure -- 12/06/07

This figure is owned by a collector who goes by Meatcutta78 at the Little Rubber Guys forums. Here's what he has to say about this enigmatic little figure.

Here is some history about this little fella. I saw this little gizmo sculpt in an auction on eBay some time back. He was mixed in with a M.U.S.C.L.E. lot, but I noticed him right away. The thing is I have no idea where or what he came from.

He is made of hard plastic and has no trade markings. The only other bit of information worth noting is the seller was from Canada.

And we can see from the following comparison pic that Gizzy stands about 1.5" tall.
